This guide is intended for users and administrators who want to install and operate SysMaster®(hereafter SysMaster), an APM(Application Performance Management) solution, for integrated performance management of distributed applications.
This guide covers the basic concepts of SysMaster and the necessary information about installing SysMaster.
To fully understand this guide, users need to have an understanding of the following:
Basic knowledge of UNIX commands
Various resources supported by SysMaster
e.g., TP-Monitor, WAS (Web Application Server), web server, application server, etc.
Basic knowledge of databases
This guide does not contain all information needed for the actual application or operation of SysMaster in the production environment. For more detailed information about the environment configuration and operation/management of SysMaster, refer to the relevant guides.
This guide consists of four chapters.
Descriptions for each are as follows:
Chapter 1: SysMaster Overview
Describes basic concepts and features of SysMaster and pre-installation tasks.
Chapter 2: Master Installation
Describes how to install the Master server.
Chapter 3: Agent Installation
Describes how to install an Agent.
Chapter 4: Resource Registration
Describes how to register resources that are monitoring targets of SysMaster.
