Installation Overview
This chapter briefly introduces ProSort and describes the system requirements for installation.
1. Overview
ProSort is a tool used to sort, merge, transform, and operate large amounts of data. It improves application performance by reducing system resource usage and job load. It is especially useful for rehosting projects that allow mainframe applications to run on open Unix systems without redesign and redevelopment.
ProSort can integrate with Tmax OpenFrame® (hereafter OpenFrame), which is TmaxSoft’s rehosting solution, by using APIs. It processes sort and merge jobs with a single process, which means that the processing structure is very simple.
